Colleagues collected information in a Seattle hospital surveying parents and their involvement with medical decisions involving their child. Hopson explains that parents should consult with the physicians to have a better outcome. Children in Washington under the age of 18 are minors which mean they are must have parental consent during medical procedures. Research is continuing to find weather the involvement of parental consent is beneficial to more children than just to have the physician’s direction for procedures.
